3-Down, 1(0) to Go

Today's task at breakfast was to eat breakfast at the hark, while not being annoyed by people constantly talking and or stressing about the exam we were about to take. Sure an 8-hour take-home sounds bad, but we knew what was going to be on it. Besides, leg/reg is kind of fun in a super boring/nerdy way. Let's face it, I just love pretending I am a judge, which is exactly what he asked us to do.

Just to make sure I was ready, I went for some oatmeal - the larger size, natch. I even put peanut butter in it, like I like. I had to eat lunch in the middle of my exam, so I had some "creamy" tomato soup from TJ's. We clearly have different definitions of "creamy," but at 90 calories / cup I guess I shouldn't have expected much.

I barely finished my leg/reg exam in time, because I was already thinking about going to the gym / dinner. I did get it turned in, while managing to pretend like I didn't see about 3 people in my section. Hey, I just go to school here.

The gym was the weirdest thing ever today. All the stupid machines were full and wouldn't be available for 30 min, so I decided to row for a bit. I HATE how the foot straps no rowing machines won't stay done. As the Harvard rower on the machine next to me pointed out, it's because I wasn't pulling the strap through again as you're supposed to. I was mildly embarrassed before trying, unsuccessfully to fix my straps for 10 min. Because I felt like everyone in the gym was watching me, I just gave up and went to do some crunches and pushups.

Didn't have to fight anyone when my turn came up for Elliptical. The old dude was off on time, I found something good to watch (A History Channel Program about the Mayan Doomsday Prophesy) and got a decent workout in. Still a little sore from Saturday's squats, so I am sure I am going to hate it tomorrow, but I will get over it.

I am going to study for Torts tonight if it kills me, but not before I have dinner at Border Cafe. Hopefully this apple I just ate will keep me from inhaling chips. Jeeeeeesuuuus Keeeeeeeeep Meeee Neeeeeear The Crooooooss.

Legislation and Muffin-nation

Two days in, and I am already derelict in my fLogging duties...So I went to my first 'study group' today at the Hark. Just three of us. Legislation and regulation. I knew I should have just had my shredded wheat and bran before I left, but somehow, the hot breakfast was calling my name. Anyway, eggs, sausage and fruit later, I was still unsatisfied. I think I still had a nagging desire for the chocolate chip muffin which I was tempted to get but managed to avoid yesterday. It ended up not being worth it. I am in a serious post-muffin stupor right now. Whoever was in charge of making sure I don't eat scones is also now on muffin detail. They are now, along with doughnuts, in the "never worth it" category. I really think it's time for America to stand up to breakfast pastries. They are just doing more harm than good...

I am now in something of a nutritional corner for the rest of the day, as I don't have access to what I would need to "balance this out." I'll come up with something.

Back Again

So I saw the cover where fat Oprah was looking over at skinny Oprah like, “oh, abs, I remember those…,” and skinny Oprah was looking at fat Oprah like, “really Oprah…?” I had been thinking about starting the fLog again, and now seems like a good time. If Oprah can own up to being fat again, so can I. I think it’s best for everyone if we pretend like this last semester didn’t happen. I’ll sum it up what it would have been though, had it happened: Reeces pieces, eggs with cheese, coffee with cream, pizza, and sandwiches. Today is my first day NOT eating dessert since I can remember, so I guess I’m winding my way back around to getting back on track? I don’t really have a catchy title for this yet, but I am sure I will think of something clever around 5lbs in. At any rate, here we go again….

Along those lines, here’s my joint of the day from my boy Musiq Soulchild, still holding it down for neo-soul, like 10 years later.
